Chapel Hill is a university town that is filled with haunted stories and legends. Spirits of the deceased are said to walk among us, especially after dark. This tour shares an unlucky 13 of the locations associated with the most notorious of haunts. Dr. Kemp P. Battle, University President from 1876-1891, was quoted as saying about the UNC campus that “The dead are always underfoot”. More about that later in the tour.

A few of these locations are on private property or may have set visiting hours. Most are on University property. Please be respectful of property owners, heed any “no trespassing” signs, and keep your ghost hunting activity confined to the streets and public sidewalks in front of these locations.
