A peaceful, relatively flat ride around Lagoon Pond, along the shaded and pleasant roads connecting Vineyard Haven, Edgartown and Oak Bluffs. There are bike paths for about 60% of the way (although there is an alternate route with more bike paths), and riders pass the excellent MV Museum, the MV Family Campground, the Alpaca Farm, the infamous roundabout, the Featherstone Art Gallery and the Sailing Camp, as well as beautiful preserves and views, and the calm, shallow beaches of the Lagoon and Vineyard Haven harbor. A short part of the route, along the isthmus between the hospital and Vineyard Haven, can be difficult to ride against a strong headwind (which blows over 15 mph 80% of the year): for a NE wind, ride it as described; for a SW wind, ride it in reverse.
